Dallas: Engine Mount Replace cost and Mechanic Recommend
Hello fellow Lexers,
Finally a solution to my rumble problem in Drive. Engine mounts need to be replaced. Mine is a 2000 rx300 AWD. 175000 miles.
What have you all been having to pay to have this done and ant recommendations in Dallas for mechanics? How long does it take for a professional to do this?

Who diagnosed the problem? And which mounts need to be replaced? The one near the radiator is an active mount. The person who diagnosed should give you the labor hours and parts cost. My estimate would be 2-3hrs of labor.
IMHO the mounts based noise happens when the engine to the wheel torque changes. So if you hear the rumble while you are cruising then the mounts are unlikely cause of the noise. That said, the mounts can be bad and they may need replacement.

I hear the rumble when the vehicle is either in reverse or when I am in drive and my foot is on the brake at a stop light or sign. It goes away when I shift into neutral or put it in park. No rumble while I am driving. It actually goes away.
It's a self diagnosis based on other threads here.

That's not how you diagnose a bad engine mount or a common symptom. They aren't cheap and there are several to replace if you are just throwing parts at it. You're looking at a decent chunk of cash probably north of $500. Would love to have an easy solution since mine does the same thing, but it's not engine mounts on my car.

Thanks for the recommendation Carver. I will check them out. No issue with the exhaust other than being told the exhaust is on the older side and sometimes they will rumble like that.
