Lower Control Arms or Bushings
My 99 RX 300 has about 280,000 miles and is in need of lower control arm bushings... I was wondering if I should take the quick way out and do lower control arms, or replace the bushings. I have access to plenty of tools & wouldn't mind doing bushings if it is at all worth the effort..

If you have access to a press, replacing the bushings would be the cheaper way even if you go with longer lasting polyurethane bushings. Otherwise, i'd consider Moog lifetime lower control arm replacements if labor is an issue.

I could be wrong on this ...
The only option from the dealer is to get the control arm from Lexus. They would not mess with replacing the bushing.
If you want the bushings, you have to resort to aftermarket products. Polyurethane last longer but are stiffer (not as soft as rubber) and can tend to be squeaky.
Also you would need alignment, so do all the suspension work at one time.

If you choose to go the aftermarket polyurethane bushings, use a marine grade grease for lubricant around the bushing, to avoid squeaking. The stickier the better. Many companies package them with white lithium grease which will run and thin out at relatively low heat levels.
