No Maxsteel, that's part of the original wiring harness ,it is hidden by the cover you see on the ground. there is also a factory cap/plug on the end of the grey conector, it's also on the ground just below.

My car is supposed to have the 'towing package' but I couldn't find that connector when I was looking for it. I changed the charcoal canister recently and don't recall seeing it. I may have to drop the canister cover again just to satisfy my curiosity.

Since I couldn't find the connector I splicedmine to the tail light wiring and used the rear lighter jack for power.

First gen over years has differences in the wiring harness for trailer. We have had quite a discussion on this in the past.

On my 99 RX I had to disassemble virtually all of the rear compartment trim pieces in order to install the electrical module.
