the only SST i'm aware of for timing belt R&R is for the crank pulley. There are some adjustable universal ones out there. You can try some of your local autoparts stores if they have a loaner one for Toyota. Otherwise, ebay has the tool for around $60.

Here's a link if you want to try making one http://diyservice-en.blogspot.com/20...on-1mz-fe.html

one member posted how to make one. Please search.

Folks have used starter bump [remember to disconnect all spark-plugs to prevent running].

Impact drivers can be handy too .. but it depends how tight the bolt is and how much power the tool has.

If I find it first, I will link it.

Buy the tool, you will need it to torque the crank bolt properly when you put it back together.

Make sure you have a long and strong breaker bar, and as a general precaution I always replace the crank bolt and add a drop of blue Loctite.

Default So.......

I ended up buying Otc, spanner wrench set. 54 dollars with free shipping from sears. I will use starter method to break bolt. Last crank pulley I pulled I had to use that.

I'm getting a really weird noise on acceleration and I feel it is the idol or pulley or one of the idlers. Timing belt was done at 89k I now have 189. It is very possible that they never replaced idlers or so depending on the shop it was taken to.
