03' RX300 Radio cuts out for 15 Seconds
This issue is completely intermittent. Here are some things that I have noted:
1. The radio / screen (non-nav) turn off and then back on for a 15 Second Duration Exactly - Every Single Time
2. The HVAC fan & modes, and all HVAC related buttons are still in operation during this period
3. A relay click can be heard during each on & off - near the drivers side Left foot. (a bunch of relays in there)
4. The problem is totally intermittant
Any help would be appreciated as I get sick of hearing myself singing when the radio cuts out!
Thank You - Rich

I just experienced a similar problem. While working on my newly acquired 2000 RX300 with the engine off and the key turned to accessory the radio and CD player would stop producing audio after being on for a few minutes. I turned the engine on and this problem went away while idling.
I had just put a factory stereo in from the junkyard after removing an aftermarket unit and re-soldering many wires. I thought I had done something wrong. Strange...

My problem went away. After reading on these forums about the digital clock resetting I replaced the battery. After a new Interstate battery from Costco was installed the car spins quicker to start, the clock keeps the proper time and the radio doesn't cut out unexpectedly. I never really measured a voltage drop with the battery. I guess the battery was on it's way out and the electronics are just super sensitive.
