rear cv axles
I have a 2000 Lexus rx 300.... I've been on eBay several times and ordered used cv axles and they all come in the same.... Where mine bolt to the rear differential is bigger than the ones I keep finding.... I don't understand it.... Lexus can't tell me if they offered different size differentials for that year.... And for new ons from Lexus are about a grand a side... Can anyone help me here?? Should I replace the differential itself to match the ones I keep finding?? Because I can't find ones that match mine.... I have enclosed pictures of mine and the ones I just ordered.....
Mine is on the right.... See how much smaller diameter the other one is?? The bolt patterns won't match up
Their different lengths as well.... I think I can push mine in to match the length but the bolt patterns are still different.... My cv axles look heavier duty.....

Hello,
Last year mine 2002 RX300 rear CV Axle leaking grease (driver side) I went to autozone special order Cardone 60-5259 Remanufactured CV Axle with limited lifetime warranty, it's fit perfectly and still working good no noise no problem, here is a link

I have a 1999 and am trying to figure this out also. I wouuld like to find an axle that has an (intact) ABS tone ring.
I am still confused, buut it seems the rear axles were different on 1999s and 2000s than they were on 2001s and above.
Also I think thee was a change on the early ones. When I tried to order one from Autozone web site, they had one for build date prior to 3/1998 and a different one for build dates 4/1998 and after. My build date is 7/99. Autozone's website said they were in stock, but when I ordered online, the order was cancelled and I was told the part was not available and they did not have an availbility date from thier supplier.
I may try a junkyard one. If I can get it cheap enough I may take a gamble on whether it is the right size.
