Parking brake pedal very stiff barely clicks once
Hi folks,
I recently bought a 2002 RX300 and just now noticed (yes, wasn't paying attention to the important things) that the parking brake barely clicks once when depressed.
It's extremely stiff and more importantly I think the parking brake barely engages if it all.
Any idea if the cable is what needs adjusting or if the parking brake shoes need replacing?
Thanks for reading and any help rendered.

The parking brake cable assembly is very accessible along the frame rail on the driver side under the car. It's probably all rusted. You may get lucky a good dose of lubricant spray may unfreeze the assembly.
