Sights & Sounds of intake and exhaust (Video)
I took a few short videos and sound clips so that you guys could hear the Weapon-R intake with cold air box combined with the Rod Millen Exhaust on my RX.
I don't want to hear any jokes about the website, it's temporary just for these files for you guys.

I had taken it down about a week ago. I'll put it back up again for a little while.
The site page should be up by the time you read this. Just click on the same link in the first post.

Thanks so much Nick! I came, I listened, I saw. Let me ask you though, how is the interior noise level? That's really the thing that I have been most self conscience about at least with the muffler that I have. Performance, I can't say that I have any complaints - even without an intake.
BTW: The overall exhaust tone is quite similar to mine however, I beleive the tonal quality of yours is a bit smoother, especially in the upper regions. Idle and start up is about the same.
I sincerely appreciate it.
Regards,
Tony J.

I love the sound of 0-60 full-throttle acceleration, produces the best sound, IMO. High speed acceleration when the tach hits about 5k+ RPM, I get a bit of ressonance. I think that comes from the metal cold-air intake box.
The sound of the intake produces the most interior cabin noise and only under spirited acceleration. I installed the intake before the exhaust and drove around to see the difference from stock. I could definitly hear the intake roar when punching the gas. Both the intake and exhaust are very subdued at crusing speeds (any cruising speed). They are "woken up", so to speak, when you accelerate at highway speeds.
So, overall I definitely notice more noise (or engine music ) inside the cabin, but it's just what I thought I wouldn't get and nothing loud. I can take it easy with a quiet Sunday drive or push the gas down further and hear the air flow in and out.
BTW, when I took the sound clips of the acceleration, my windows were down. You can tell in the end of the .mp3 file where you start to hear some wind.

Hi, I'm new here.
Recently got one of the last 2003 RX300s. I am curious if your modifications added to the performance of the RX, or did they just provide nice sound effects? How do you think the exhaust would be without the cold air intake?

Hey dog barx, welcome to ClubLexus.
The intake and exhaust modifications certainly added to the performance of the RX. It has a little more spunk. I really notice how the power picks up right at 3k RPM. It's as if the engine has a turbo on it (a small turbo), kinda wierd really.
I should take a small video of me accelerating up to and past 3k rpm. You can hear a difference in sound too.
The exhaust without the intake would give you better performance at the top end. The intake makes more noise than the exhuast. I do enjoy the humming of the exhaust at 75mph; it's subtle but sounds good.
Take care and if you have a little time, browse around the site. There's always something going on around here.
