Default RX300 Radio Back Lights Center Console Instrument Panel Lights out

I used to be able to get these to come on for a short time by replacing the 7.5 amp "PANEL" fuse, but now they no longer come on at all. Anyone have any ideas on this one?

Thanks in advance, Chet

Mine kept blowing over and over again. I replaced the 7.5 with a ten and it works like a champ

I wouldn't recommend replacing the fuse with one that is more amps.

There is an issue somewhere that you need to fix if the original fuse keeps blowing out. It's incredibly dangerous to stick a bigger fuse in there.

Yes thanks, I get that I should not replace a lower amp fuse with a higher one,but I get no lights regardless of what amp fuse I try.

Did the "higher rating" fuse pop? If it is intact, then a fuse upstream or a fuse-able link could have popped.

I would remove the higher rated fuse and trace the voltage back to the battery ,,, you would need wiring diagram. Once you fix that, then you need to find what is drawing excessive current.

No the higher amp fuse did not pop. I have had no problems since I put a higher amp fuse in. I wouldn't have normally used a higher amp fuse but 2.5 amps is such a small amount I didnt think there would be a problem
