Default Daylight LED

Hi. I am trying to change the daylight lightbulb for my 99 rx. The original daylight is orange, but wanted to change it to led white. When i connect the led, none of the daylight works. When i connect only one, it works. Do anyone know whats the problem? or how can i fix it. Thanks.

DRL are high beams connected in series (by relays) to produce 1/2 of the full light during day time. So each gets 6 volts. Since the filament gets 1/2 of 12v the wire gives a orange hue.

What ever you do, keep in mind you are tinkering with high beams.

I believe some LED's need full power to turn on, and as Salim said the DRL's are just high beams run at less volts. Which explains why the LED does not work.

Default DRL: can't believe there are no solutions for this

so far what I've seen no solution to this and here's the question:

is there a way to have LEDs as DRL with working high beams as well?

or are there at least some, say, whiter bulbs (say 5000K+), which will look whiter as DRL?

any other ideas?

You could always just turn on your low beams...

Why not bring it to a dealership or mechanic, I'm sure they could figure it out.

Silverstars. Not an LED solution, but definitely whiter.

That being said, the only way you could safely run a two level voltage to LEDs is by having two different circuits supplying the voltage with different high wattage resistors going to each source. One set of resistors would operate at the lower voltage, and the other would only operate at the higher voltage. Otherwise, you'd need to have a specialized microcontroller handling this, and that just gets plain expensive.
