2001 RX300 HID Headlamp Assembly Info?
Hi, We have acquired a 2001 RX300 that has the HID lamps that are yellowed pretty badly.
I need some clarification if I can get it. I have searched and read here how some of you polish them.
That aside when I shop for replacements I see it can be easy to get the wrong ones if one is not careful or knowledgeable.
Some designate Halogen, Some HID, some say Combination in the descriptions.
When these lamps are turned on and close to the garage doors (in daylight) , I see the low beams are blue-ish at first but may get whiter as they heat up. The High beams are the typical yellow-ish or warmer color.
I can hear the HID ballasts high pitch whine.
So............ are they both HID, or is there a combination HID low beam & Halogen High beam?
Can anyone put me onto a decent vendor for replacement housings that will use the existing hardware?
Thanks

Well off the bat theae headlight assemblys cos about 1,300 a set new and will be a exact fit the hid headlight only use hid in the headlights and use halogen Bulbs in the foglights the ones you see on ebay for 120$ a pair will fit but the existing wireing harness from the car will have to be modified To work and need a aftermarket hid kit you amcan get everything done for about 300$ vs 1,300$ i would suggest going the cheaper route works just as good even better

No joke, I use Phillips Crystal Vision 4000k bulbs and they're perfectly white. People ask me all the time if they're HID's.
I pay about $16ish shipped for the 9006's on Amazon, and almost the same for my 9005's.
They're not blue in color at all. (I hate ricers haha). They're a nice white light which still give off the higher end luxury look.
I've have/had many vehicles with HID lighting, but I'm not about to pay/retrofit expensive lighting into an old SUV lol

Yes my hid headlamps on my 02 rx300 broke and i had to fork up the 1,300$ :-/ yep it hurt a bit but when they did get cloudy i just used a turtle wax headlight restoration kit for 10$ and it did the job that 100+$ kits do fairly well only down side is that you have to do it every few months or the cloudyness will come back good luck

Does the set from Rock Auto work and
fit exactly to spec?
I also wonder if when purchasing the set
does the bulb come with them?
Rock Auto is selling bulbs pretty cheap right
now...which is the correct one?
I have a yr 2000...and will be replacing
the valve cover and intake gaskets...anyone
have a video on them or brand?
thanks

HID's??....and I assume that the bulbs are factory. I bought the car in 02....with 25k on them...so I believe they are factory bulbs.
I'm thinking of replacing the entire headlight package...rock auto sells about $80. Does the bulbs come with them?
thanks

Ok the regular halogen Bulbs are 9006 and run anywhere from 20$-40$ a set the hid bulbs are D2R and run 80-100$ a bulb look on your headlights and on each corner their bulbs be a yellow sticker indicating you have hid's if you dont you will just need regular 9006 bulbs
