Hi guys!
i got an rx300 2.4L few days back and once i turn the key to on the check engine light does not go off, however once i start it the light goes off.... help required here as i dont know if its normal or not. as its manual is in japanese and i cannot read it.... if someone could help where can i find its user manual online as it would be a great help thanks.....

Sounds normal so that you know the light works. The other MILs should light up too at key on before start.

sound right. usually when you go to the first slot of the key, all the lights on the dash should turn on. But if you start the engine and the check engine light is on, you need to bring it in to the shop.

thanks for the help guys.... now I am stuck at one more issue and that is to find the right grade of transmission oil as the manual is in Japanese and the English version on line does not specify that.... can anyone help me in this regard?

Please read the sticky threads [top few] and use search function. Most of the common issues have been discussed in detail. In fact transmission service is one of the sticky.

RX uses Toyota Type IV which is different from other names with IV in it.
