Default Do the outside mirrors dim?

The inside rear view mirror "auto dims" when headlights from vehicles behind me hit it. Should the outside mirrors dim too?
I tried turning the auto dim switch on/off while observing headlights from behind, and I can tell the inside mirror dims, but I can't tell if anything is changing (dimming) with the outside mirrors. Is it broken or does only the inside mirror dim?

Auto-dim side-view mirrors were an option.

Thanks. I guess I don't have that option. I didn't buy the car new. Shame on original buyer for skimping on options
I do have the auto dim on the interior review mirror.

If your inside mirrors are electrochromic, then you will have outside electrochromic mirrors too according to the spec sheet.

They were bundled together, you can't get only inside electrochromic mirrors.

Please check again. It would have not taken you years to notice this. First night out on multi-lane street would have had you reach for the settings.

Best way to check is to move the side mirrors up at night.

PS: I have been wrong many times, and this might be yet another .. but

There is also the possibility that the original electrochromic mirrors were covered over with replacements as was one if mine due to it shorting out. Since I have one of each, it is very easy to tell the difference at night.

Thanks for all the replies. So I do have them.
The car was my wife's. She just got a new 2014 RX350, I get the old '01 RX300 (which is an upgrade from my 96 Maxima). So I haven't really noticed until now that the outside mirrors don't seem to dim (at least not as much as I'd like). I'll do some more testing. Now that it is my daily driver, I spend a lot of time in it and I'm becoming reacquainted with the features. We have had this car since 2002 or 03.

Do this, shine a flashlight at the inside rearview mirror during the day while holding your finger over the light sensor on the back. Observe the outside mirrors while doing this, they should dim.

Good idea. I was trying to observe the side mirrors while driving a night in traffic while turning the dimming switch on and off (and not driving off the road at the same time).
