Won't start - No power to Dash at all
2000 Lexus RX300 - Rebuilt Engine, Rebuilt Transmission... Last night went out and everything was fine. Started the car to come home and the car sounded like it was misfiring, the gauges were bouncing around and acting weird. I pulled over and stopped, shut of the car. Tried to start it again but NO power at all would come to the dashboard. Again and again and again. Then suddenly I had power, but when I turned the key to start the car, it went "Click" and all the power was gone again.
A police officer was nice enough to give me a jump which actually got the car started.
I limped it home, and after a couple of miles all the weird dash activities went away and the car acted normally. When I get home I shut off the car and again it wouldn't start and I had no power.
This morning I tested the battery and have 12.4 Volts.
Any Ideas??

Are you checking voltage at the posts?
You can have bad/loose terminals, grounding straps of loose main fuse and bad battery.
Bad battery can not sustain current and then later recovers to produce good voltage [the Volt meter draws almost no current and is not the best way to test a battery]. I would take the battery to a auto shop and have it tested under load.
