I am planning on switching out the gear shift **** to the oem woodgrain one. I have the schematic that
shows the blow up of the **** dissasembled but it doesn't say how you get the shift control button out so you can get to the screw that holds in the entire assembly. Has any one done this and can advise me how the shift control button is held in place and how to pull it out without breaking any thing?

I recall reading there has to be a modification done to make an 01+ woodgrain shifter work on a 99' or 00'.

Do a search on here, I think you will find it. I don't recall exactly what modification is needed.
