I think they are referring to a hot-all-the-time 12-volt power receptacle.

Ah ,,, my bad.

I ran a wire from the battery through the firewall. [with in line fuse in the engine compartment, before the firewall]

hahah, couldn't help but add a comment. I've been seeing this issues before iPhone's were even popular! Too funny. I know there are DIY's on here...you just have to find them.

I gave up on that a long time ago, and have managed life with my iPod Classic and my Monster Tape player just fine.

CL is a great place.

I also use a tape player adapter. It works great and I would highly recommend it. I looked into the aux plug diy, but in the end, I figured the tape player is much more practical. When I don't use it, I just put it in the glove compartment. Sound quality is excellent.

If you really want to mess around with an aux in, then you should just take it one step further and install a BT adapter this way you can go wireless with bluetooth.

yep, i agree. and as far as adding stuff...it almost made sense labor $ wise to just do a whole new sound system and stuff--except you cant really remove and replace the screen/dash and still control stuff. I think...idk...

but yes, in the end, I've survived, and now i just have a VVT solenoid that just went bad today...so i have a drive home and back to work full of crap mpg and engine cut outs, unfortunately...

fml.
