Default RX300 to Highlander Cross Reference

As many of us have found out, the identical parts in a Highlander are significantly less expensive than the Lexus parts. I'm starting this thread so people can post or request the part numbers that cross reference between the two cars. Hopefully this will be successful enough to become a "sticky".

To add on, please include the model year and both the Toyo and Lexi numbers.

AND

One of the major problem with internet is the false information floating around. So please, please post ONLY the stuff you have personally verified.

I did the same replacement pictured above and the parts are identical, the only difference is the pricing.

This is a great idea, but how the heck do you figure out that a part with different part numbers is the same in the first place?

Well.. in my case, a little research in this Club Lexus forum was very helpful, and of course Google too.. I wish there was more info about these compatible parts. Also my mechanic comes up with some Highlander or Sienna alternative parts for my RX300, that helps too. Exactly the same!

Rear differential drain bolt at Lexus $13, toyota $5.50
thermostat at Lexus $30, toyota $21

if you look up the part number online at lexus dealerships, then call toyota for their price. Dont forget to check ebay. Search the part number and then add GENUINE and mostly genuine Toyota parts from dealers across the usa will have parts available.

I have purchased toyota parts for my Lexus, but in those cases the part number was the same. This example of the windshield washer pump, the part number was different.

Are identical part numbers between Toyota and Lexus the exception or the rule?

True. I just replaced the thermostat. OEM Toyota part but not Lexus.

Lucky you! I've never come across same part number replacements between Toyota and Lexus... I have to search everywhere and recheck and always the result are different part numbers. You can check on ebay and see "other part number" or "compatible with" and see if it's the same part, or better yet ask seller about item and to remove all doubt, consult your mechanic... hey, somebody should know by now! I recommend reading these forums, most of my questions have been answered previously and I'll take any advice from the experts here. Good luck!
