Default Leather Repairs - DIY

Since I am getting the RX300 ready to sell, I have been doing a lot of detail work.

My leather was worn, so I purchased a repair kit called Magic Mender (I know others on this forum have used this stuff). Also, I did not do a How-To write, as the instructions and video provided by the seller are sufficient.

If you want to do the same, these are the colors you need:

Dark Taupe is color 13
Ivory is color 375 (NOTE: do not use 315 as it says on the Magic Mender site, I originally did, and it's the wrong color)

Before & After progress pics (note, the work is nearly done, I will be going over everything one more time with the color coat)

NICE! Too bad mine were to far gone...
Does it say how long it's expected to last?

No info on the longevity of the product, you can even fix puncture holes and serious creases.

This product looks very similar to what was used by my professional leather repair guy. My repair is still going strong after one year.

My professional used at least two kinds of filler/adhesive, custom mixed the matching color, and applied the color with an air brush. Still, a very strong resemblance.

Would this product work on a fairly worn leather steering wheel? See pictures in this thread to get an idea of how worn it is: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...ing-wheel.html

I wish you were closer, I would probably take a look at buying your RX. Any idea of what you may be asking for it when the time comes?

It should work on that steering wheel....but you will probably have to "butter over" the stitching, it really won't look right, unless you just smoothed over them.

There is a wide price spread for 1st gens here in Phoenix....as low as $6,350 to $14,000.....but I'm hoping for $8,000....it's in good shape, low miles, lots of adds.....I think it will sell quickly.
