Default My poor girl might have just died...

I don't want to get too far ahead of myself but I think she knew I was thinking about an upgrade and she just gave up on me.....

My 99 with 306,000kms (190,000miles) died on me today, total loss of power dead, with an AT oil temp light on the dash, and the engine light. I have been driving with a CEL for my after cat o2 sensor, waiting for my mechanic to get home from vacation.. I've been checking the code daily with my reader and cleared it a few times to make sure it was still 1 CEL. the exhaust needs to be replaced as well, it sounds like a monster truck... So it's dead in the middle of the road.. It will start up..rev to about 2,000 then right back down n dead.. When it dies it has the at temp light on..
My first thought was the transmission is dead. But after calling my father he said the engine should run fine and idle if the transmission is dead, and he feels its a fuel or air issue, I'm hoping for the best here, like IACV and maf cleaning, might be causing it... I will say at start up this week I've noticed it idling high to start... Thoughts ????

I had it towed to my mechanics shop even tho he is away, I'm going to try to get out there this weekend to get the CELs off it as the reader was at home.. I really can't afford to outright buy a used SUV, I needed to sell the rx for like $3,000 area to be able to move on without much of a payment,

I would suggest leaving the check engine light on......the fault codes and information stored might make the diagnosis easier and faster for your mechanic. That is if there are any new codes besides your cat code.
