Default Reminder - periodically remove license plates

Friendly reminder, based on experience: the license plate screws, both front and rear, are prone to rust and corrosion. If you don't periodically remove them and spray with WD40 or similar product you risk being unable to remove them without destroying the captive nuts. This happened to me on the front, requiring removal of the bumper skin, purchase of the nuts from the dealer, and installation. I was barely able to remove the rears without similar result. Be warned.

Excellent advice.

We don't have front plates in Florida, but every year when I do my registration renewal and I apply the new
registration sticker on my RX300, I check the bolts on mine.

I replaced the rear bolts with hex-head stainless steel ones several years ago, because they were rusting. I'm in Florida, so I no longer have front plates.

Where could I buy these at?

I think I got them at Home Depot or Lowe's. It is a standard metric size. If you bring the original bolt as a sample, you should be able to match it up in metric stainless steel hardware.

I replaced mine in Virginia (front and back) with Stainless years ago after I had to drill one out to get the plate off. Very easy to find the right size.
