I am about to replace all of the door lock actuators and service the window regulators in my '99RX.
I am looking for opinions as to whether it would be a good idea to go ahead and replace the speakers, since I will have the door panels off...and what brands/type would you recommend?
As far as I know, I do not have the Nakamichi system, it just says "Lexus Premium Sound System".

No, if the speakers aren't cracked/blown then why replace them? Unless you aren't satisfied with how they sound. IMHO, I actually think the Lexus Premium Sound System sounds pretty bad *** for a stock system.

I replaced mine last week in my 99 and they all had dry rotted holes in them. I suspected as much since they sounded terrible. I replaced mine with Infinity coaxials in the rear and components up front. A total online price around $160. The difference is amazing to me. Now I will consider it a "Premium" sound system.

The foam surrounds definitely do age, and the automotive environment is rather harsh.

The OEM system, the one with the mini-subwoofer under the passenger's seat, is pretty amazing, even today.
