The FM modulator used to come with RCA inputs. By ganging the inputs, you could hook up both the Ipod/iphone audio connection and an Aux input. For whatever reason, Isimple has gone to molex connectors and a single molex input on the FM modulator. I think you still have the option of using the device to charge an ipod or iphone, but, without a splitter for the molex connectors (and I have yet to find one), you no longer have the option of being able to play your ipod or iphone independently of the aux input and have the aux input available as well.

The new version is version 4, and there is a picture of the FM modulator with the molex input on the side of the box, I've tried to order the older version 3 times (and have been told I will receive the older version) only to receive version 4 on each occassion.

And, that would allow you to still have 2 inputs.

I think it would be too many wire and you would lose some efficiency. It would probably be easier to run a line from the iphone/ipod back to the Aux.
