Default White LED in Orange/Red Side Marker

Hey, hope everyone is having a great Saturday. And, an early happy father's day to all the father's.

Quick question, will it look weird if I put a white led into the original side markers on the RX, I believe the front side markers are orange, and the rear are red. I really don't want to spend $60 for clear side markers for front and back. Only one of my side marker lights is working, all of the others are burnt out.

It would be great, if someone has white led's in their original colored side marker, and can post a picture of it. I would appreciate it! But, I think most of you have replaced the side marker with the clear one's.

Here are the LED's I want to buy: http://www.buy.com/prod/2-bulbs-pair...229200197.html

One of my side markers burned out quite a few years ago. I was one of those reporting on this forum that the side-marker had leaked and was filled with water. The electrical socket was badly corroded by the water.

As I recall, the bulbs are clear (i.e., white). Lexus sells a short wire that has the bulb socket on one end and plugs into the car wiring harness on the other side. I just replaced that short wire and the bulb, drilled a small drain hole in the bottom of the lens, and things have been fine since.

I suppose you could get clear side markers and use colored bulbs (LED or regular), but just getting clear (i.e., white) bulbs (LED or regular) and using the existing colored lenses would certainly be less expensive.

Thanks for the responses guys!

Gazi, I really like the clear lights with the blue led's but I don't really want to spend that much for just lights.

I think I'm just going to order those white LED's for now. Eventually, I'll replace the side makers and get the clear one's.

The LED that I linked isn't too big, it'll fit right? I want to make sure they aren't too long.

Thanks again!

Buy.com doesnot have the specification. I have following bulb fits in my car and has measurement. http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...FWLED-xHP5.htm
You could contact the seller for the sizes before you buy.

Dont forget about the color fading in them as well. I ordered new orange and red corners and had the same issue. I ended up ordering (the 2nd time) the clear smoke lenses and put colored LED's in.

Why not buy an orange LED bulb... I am pretty sure they are out there. And red as well. Again, might help with the fading of the lenses. All of mine are pretty much shot from the sun fading out the lenses. I just have to conjure up the funds to go ahead and replace all of them, or find one from an 01+ as I think those were made out of a different material. Most of the 99's I see are completely faded out.

I already ordered the white one's, In my case, the lenses aren't faded...yet. lol

I also ordered blue led's to put in the door courtesy lights. If I like how they look, I will order the correct LED for the dome light's.

I want to find out how to wire up the LED strips that they sell on eBay. I think it would look awesome if I could place that in the center console, and wire it up to the cigarette lighter in the center by the vents.

I will post pictures of the updated courtesy lights, and side marker's once I install them. The side markers look like they will be a pain in the **** to change. Not looking forward to that. lol
