Default Help: where to find inner door trim??

Hi everyone! Recently purchased a 1999 rx300 in great condition for my mother.. The bad news is the first owner must have smoked in it and now the inner molding is light yellow in color ... It is the inner tan and black weather stripping trim (front and back on both sides). Question is where can I purchase these trim pieces ? A link would be great. I have yet to call the dealer although I am sure it is an arm and leg for the parts. Any direction and help would he great! Thanks!!

Try posting a picture.

When it comes to Lexus exclusive parts, one has limited options ...
Dealer parts
Salvage yard searches
Mods

AND

dont overlook repair. <- This is why I am suggesting that you post a picture.

Is the yuck something which is above the finish or has it removed the finish?

It is above the "finish" . I am not sure how to post pictures and I am also on my iPhone. The trim is just inside the door frame and travels all the way around. It is not on the door. The trim is black rubber and has the tan colored trim. It is the weather stripping and the tan portion has yellowed due to smoke... I am not sure the best way to describe it

It should be easy to attach a jpeg.

Any-how, use a mild soap or cleaner like Luxol.

You can progressively move to more aggressive things (top of the scale would be goof-off or steam cleaning). Remember to work in non-conspicuous area and stop at the mildest solution. A soft bristle brush to scrub and bit of patience can do wonders. Remember to stop and not go beyond the finish.

I know exactly what you are trying to clean. First.. don't ever buy a car that has been smoked in, its the worse to clean. You will find smoke stained pieces for years to come. Second try the goof-off or goo gone. If that doesn't get it as clean as you want you can order a cleaner that Meguiars makes called "MEGUIARS CARPET & INTERIOR CLEANER". You will have to order it from out of the country because they stopped selling it in the US a few years back, but hands down this is the best cleaner I have found in almost 15 years. Not to mention I use it myself. I did order a few bottles just because the overseas shipping is expensive. Just my 2cents..

Mine is the same as yours. Since my grandfather was a smoker. I actually just detailed it today in and out and worked like hell to try to get them back to normal. Not even magic eraser will touch it. I think you are SOL and you will have to live with it. Not really noticeable unless you point it out.
