Any way to have doors "auto-lock"?
Hi there. We just replaced my wifes Ford Expedition with a '99 RX300. She absolutely loves the RX300, except for one thing. On her Expedition whenever you shifted out of Park it would automatically lock all of the doors for you. I've been reading about some programmable "codes" (can't remember what they were called) that can change some options on the car and wondered if one of those would give us this functionality. Any ideas/advice would be greatly appreciated.
TIA!

I moved from a Ford to the RX 300, too. The RX does not have this feature, but I don't miss it.
The codes you're referring to are called C-BEST. You can find more information regarding C-Best settings in the RX 300 FAQ at the top of the threads in this forum.

Thanks for the info. Like you said, not a big deal... she'll just have to get used to locking them herself (o the horrors)... many other things more than make up for this very minor one.
Thanks again!

The sense of security that the "thunk" of all doors locking at once has an obvious appeal to many.
When picking up somebody, and they reach for the door and it's locked...Grrrr. When you forget something you tossed in the backseat of your car and walk back to the car and try to open the door has no appeal. This is only a couple reasons why I don't miss this feature.
The Keyless Entry Pad...Now, that I miss. Just toss your keys under the seat or in the glovebox and lock it up...Ballgames, amusement parks, hiking, going to the beach, whatever. No keys to lose or keep track of.
