i have a 2000 rx 300 with 194400 miles.

repairs ive done since bought car march 2011 new starter and an airfuel sensor. when bought car from small local dealer it had 184000 on it. he repair i think both rear struts. car came with minor abs issue it seems to pump brakes randomly wether on smooth dry or rough wet terrain. abs light does not come on when this happens. odd cleaned wheel sensor still does it but noticed less often gets me mad so i unplugged abs and will pump brakes all by my self as i do that anyway when needed even when abs works.

great car hope it lasts me way past 200k mark

Default 2000 rx300

I have owned my 2000 RX300 for just over a month (according to CARFAX, I am the third owner). The RX has 238k miles, and is still tight. The previous owners were pretty meticulous when it came to making sure that maintenance intervals were complied with. According to CARFAX/Lexus Maintenance, it still has the original engine/tranny. It had the timing belt/water pump replaced at 125k miles. Since I bought it, I have replaced the battery, A/F sensor (B1 S1) and replaced the broken antenna mast with an after-market mechanical mast (but I will be doing a mod on this - the power antennas SUCK here). So far, my family LOVES the RX!! Hope it'll last us at least another 250k!

I have a 2000 RX300. It currently has 176,000 miles on the original engine and transmission. It is the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned! My grandparents purchased the car brand new in December 1999 and later passed it down to us when they purchased a new 2008 RX in 2007. It has been extremely reliable and we have not had any major issues. We have changed the oil and filter every 5,000 miles using only sythetic which has helped prevent the known sludge issue with the engine. We changed the timing bet and water pump at 90,000 and are planning to do it again when the car reaches 180,000. The quality of this vehicle is amaing! For a car with this many miles, its still drives like new! There are no squeaks or rattles, and the paint still shines like new. We are planning on keeping it for many years to come. It has become like a part of our family. We hope it lasts forever!

All the money is going into all of the politicians' pockets, and this is not a democratic or republican dig, it's a dig on all of them regardless of their affilliation. Ever wonder why they are always smiling? Tons of cash, free healthcare...sorry for the rant.

soaring72, gashed, and kalali: It would be interesting to know if you are on your original transmissions (and engines for that matter), given the issues that some have had with these cars.

Sorry, should have mentioned that my 2001 AWD with 200K Miles is still running on original transmission. Engine was replaced by Lexus at 90K Miles - not sure as to why.

Talking High Mileage RX300

I have a 1999 RX 300 AWD with 192,000 only thing other than the timing belt & other normal maintenance was a PS pump about 3,000 miles ago...It is due for struts & I plan on doeing them with KYB before fall. I do have a bit of a niggling noise from the heater system like a servo I need to grease. It runs like a damn champ.

Mileage is still about 20 MPG mixed...It does set a few codes...But hell it is 13 years old..a OBD scan tool works great...They are never permanent.. I think it has a small exhaust like near the rear O2 sensor so it shows lean sometimes.

'99 RX AWD 211k. Engine replaced at 86k ("premature wearing of the rod") and tranny replaced at 90k both under CPO 100k warranty. Only mechanical repair in the last 50k miles was a single ignition coil.

I'm the original owner of an 01 FWD RX. Now has 214k miles with the original engine and transmission. Major work done as follows: 2nd timing belt, water pump at 178k, knock sensors & harnesses, valve cover gasket, valve adjust/shims at 200k, A/F sensors front and rear and PVC, around 208k. I've always changed my own oil with synthetic since 40k and changed or flushed the ATF every 30k and am now on my 3rd trans filter. The only other item replaced around 100k was the Air Mix Servo which is now making noises again. My RX still rides and handles like new and runs great. The best vehicle I've ever owned.

2nd owner of '99 RX300 AWD. Purchased with all maintenance records at 87,000 miles. Now has 145,400 miles. Original tranny. Timing belt at 90,000 miles, flex pipe replaced, front rotors and pads, rear pads, new PCV valve. Replaced front strut mounts and rubber (quieted the front end down nicely) at 135,000. Normal routine maintenance performed with regular oil and filter changes.

GREAT car.
