Cobra Brush Guard
After waiting for two months, I received my chrome Cobra Brush guard.
I was very disappointed that I could not mount it because the package did not contain the bumper mount (Looks like a license plate mount but is wider than the lisence plate mount that I currently have and has recessed holes where you attach the mount to the bumper. Maybe it is a european lisence plate mount).
Since this guard is not a Toyota product, I would think that the brush guard manufacturer would provide this mount. I checked with both my local Toyota and Lexus dealer and they do not carry the part.
Can someone who has ordered this product comment and tell me if this mount should have come with the brush guard bumper mount. Did you drill holes in the license plate mount or did you have to special order the mount that appears in the web ad/installation manual for this product? If so, where did you order it from?

When I installed the Jaos front protector, I had to remove the front bumper to attach it. The claim no drilling required was correct, but it took me longer as I had to figure it out how to remove the shell on my own. The nice part was that the front guard is firmly attached to the vehicle.
So check your instructions again and you may have to remove the bumper. By the way, I would be concerned if the license plate is the primary point of attachment.

I installed the Rod Millen Chrome brush guard. For me, if you look under the bumper, there should be two bolts holding the engine up. The brush guard had mounts welded already. Check your website for mounts. I'm surprised that it didn't come with any.

I got it!!
The instructions show a european license plate holder. This is what threw me off.
Here is what I had to do:
1 - After I removed my American license plate holder, I noticed that on the inside was a template for two drill holes. These lined up perfectly with the holes on the brush guard.
2 - I drilled out those holes and attached the brush guard to the front of the license plate holder.
3 - I then attached the license plate holder (with the brush guard attached) and my license plate to the front bumper (using the existing holes that line up with the metal bar behind the front of the bumper).
4 - I then attached the bottom of the brush guard as shown in the instructions.
Looks and fits great and is very secure.
Bottom line: The instructions that come with the product are geared for installation on a European model. I have asked the vendor to update the web site with the correct information for installation on American models.
