Im out in the northwest and im looking at buying a rx from Canton, Ohio. Should i be concerned about rust? Heres the link to the car http://seattle.craigslist.org/est/ctd/2520531645.html

The car looks great. I'd be happier with a Texas or AZ car but if it was going to rust it would probably be showing by now. Will you be able to examine the car prior to delivery?

Carver, with me living in Portland Oregon i am having the guy that has the car take it to a Lexus Dealer to do the pre purchase inspection. If all is well i will head up there this weekend to purchase the car. The guy says there is no signs of rust but with it being a midwest car i am parinoid. Just dont want to drive 3.5 hrs to find out its got a rusting bottom.

That wood kit in that car is something. I had something similar in mine, but ever since I came back from Florida, exposure to the sun (and my RX is out in the sun since I am on the road a lot), has left that wood kit had slowly eroded and faded. However, it's a nice touch.
Living in Mexico City, I never saw rust. Low oxygen environment was wonderful in that respect, but since I got back to Florida 3 years ago, I have only seen rust in areas that were exposed without paint or other coverage. I am getting some oxidation on my rims (but I plan to powdercoat them at some point).
Rust is not really much of an issue otherwise with these vehicles.
