Oil Change Question
I did my first oil change the other day and it went fairly smoothly. It is a 2001 RX 300. I had a new washer ready to install but noticed that there was not an old washer on the plug. Is there a replaceable washer? If so how do you get it off. I did notice a slight protrusion on the oil pan at the drain hole but this seemed like a "permanent washer".
I noticed my receipts from Lexus for an oil change do not show a washer n the parts list.
At any rate it is not leaking, but I would like to know for next time.
Thanks

Toyota/Lexus uses a crushable washer with each
oil change...At least they list it on my invoice:
Drain plug gasket 90430-12031 $00.90
You can buy these at any Toyota/Lexus dealer.
I guess I'd better crawl under my RX and look.

washer
After 7500 miles the washer is "glued", typically, to the oil pan.
I take a flat blade screwdriver at it's edge and tap the screwdriver lightly with a hammer to get it off.
