It looks perfectly safe. It does not look DOT approved. There are, by way of an example of safe vs DOT, some people who've actually gotten tickets for wearing five point racing harnesses because they "weren't wearing a seat belt." Never mind the fact that they were safer.

I like your solution and would use it anytime I needed it.

Default tether anchor installed

Hi guys,

i installed both on my '99 rx300... part is toyota 73709-12010...although i googled and it said the part for my 1999 rx300 is 73709-21010. i think they are exactly the same so i ordered 73709-12010.
tool: 14mm socket ratchet ...locate the holes per your lexus manual...
