Gremlins in the electrical system. What is going on?
Learned Gentlemen. I have a 2001 Rx300 with 170K miles. I have owned it for 10 years. It has been a thoroughly dependable vehicle until about a year ago when it started having electrical issues. First, it had an electrical leak that would drain the battery. It was due to a corroded connection. Next, the alternator was replaced. This is a pic of the instrument panel. It seems to be running fine but the warning bell for the seatbelt keeps going off every 15 minutes and the doors are all closed. GREMLINS??

Hi Iluvlexus, where was the corrosion found.
Plz tell us exactly if you remember.
The Body Ecu is responsible for turning on the seat belt buzzer and warning light by sending data to the instrument cluster.
It's also responsible for detecting seat belt condition.
Corrosion is a big problem for electronics and can sometimes make things intermittent like the issue reported.
A failure in the circuit can also cause this but would like more info before digging in.
