$6000??!!! for an extra 40hp?
I'd personally just sell my RX300 and get a RX350 (if the styling isn't lame) when it comes out... the 3.5L engine should have a nice increase in torque (which is what really gets you off the line) and hp.
If the price was closer to $3k then I might go for it, or if the hp increase was closer to 70hp for $6k.
Just my opinion.

Storm, I hear kidneys and livers can fetch at least $25k...
Which brings me to my next point: There is nothing wrong with modding your car for performance, as long as you use your head. There comes a point when you've poured soo much $$$ into a ride that you could have took that money, bought a better vehicle, and gotten the performance that you wanted all a long.
For $6k, I'd rather take the deprication hit and sell my '01, put that money plus $6k towards a new RX350. (maybe... I'm not thrilled about the vehicle being the first Lexus made in North America... damn glad I got my '01)
Another topic regarding modding: Sources tell me that if you get the shock and spring set here , that you will basically have a Silver Sport RX (sans the cosmetic differences).

6K? Ouch! That's way out of my league for any mod.
With 6K, I'd buy a go-to-hell pickup truck w/4WD and go mudding.
or a 1972-74 El Dorado, Caprice, Bonneville or 88 Convertible
or a Martin HD-28 and a Telecaster and another Twin Reverb amp.
Mmmm...Cars and Guitars.

Yeah man
It'd be cool, but WAY too much $$$.
Leo @ Weapon-r mentioned to me again today that the ECU for the RX3 is almost complete, that it's $750, and the gains are supposedly going to be around 25+ hp... (they gained like 30+ hp on the GS) Now that's a much better $ to hp ratio!
I love the RX3, but not enough to justify spending $6K on a S/C...
Spin, if you want those kinds of gains, why not think about nitrous instead? I know that Swing913 is putting nitrous in his RX - ZEX nitrous kit is $400 USD - I'm sure he could provide you with more details, but I know it's a GREAT hp boost. You can't tell people you're supercharged w/ NO2, but at least you can tell 'em your NITROCHARGED - and more importantly SHOW them you're nitrocharged when you hit the "boost" button.
Hey Paddy - you're right about the $6K - I'd get a beater old Toyota pickup and go muddin' up nort... Either that or a PRS archtop and a Bruno Underground 30 amp! Cars and guitars is right my man!

Yeah, a bit pricey, and that's probably my biggest obstacle - but who knows?
Leo just said soon... that's all he said... Maybe somebody else could get an exact deadline from him - right now I just don't have enough money to care ...
