Worth stepping up to 235 from 225 with new tires?

S&M...heh...
Despite this seeming inconsistency, Lexus has never agreed
with wwilly on this (Despite his claim that they have). Nor have
they acknowledged a problem with this application on wwilly's
2001 AWD RX 300 (Despite his claim that they have).
Here's the Lexus response to his concern regarding chains only
on the front tires. It's this response that wwilly has interpreted
as Lexus' agreement that chains only on the front is dangerous.
From wwilly's post - Edmunds RX 300 board, #5494:
"Dear Mr. West:
Based upon your concerns with chains on the front tires only,
installing snow tires on all four wheels would be the best
recommendation for you. "
Sounds more like a brush off to me...

I remember that post over on Edmunds. And I agree, it does sound like a brushoff. But I also think, as I said, that he's got the physics of it right. More traction in the front than rear when braking is not a good thing, unless you're doing a handbrake turn.........
FCobra, didn't notice so much less body roll as less of a sensation that the tires were flopping over on their sidewalls, but then, mine were those tissue paper Goodyears. Haven't seen the Bridgestones off the wheel, but the No-tegrity sidewalls were very wussy compared to the CTs.

Boy, chains on one end, Integritys on the other...the difference in traction boggles the mind, if not the ABS! That's if you could ever achieve ramming speed. I'm glad we get none of that frozen wet stuff down here...just the occasional hurricane.
Re the $100 carwash: Local dealer gets about $120 for the standard oil and filter change, but throws in a "free" carwash. I figure with most oil change franchises getting about $20-$30 for an oil change, that "free" wash costs me about 100 bucks. Maybe the dealer is just getting his investment back on that 35k worth of free maintenance he "gave" me...

Yeah, tell me about it...looks like that free maintance is going to end up costing you more then if you were to pay for it
Also, at our dealership if you feel like waiting about a 1/2 hour (on a day when there is absolutley no one else there ) for a carwash they give you one for free and waiting for it is the only catch...
