Yeah - Silversport was only for 2001. Although I LOVE the new Coach Edition Graphite exterior color, I'm just not a tan/light wood interior fan. The non-Coach Black on Black is ok but I don't like the grey trim and the leather seats aren't perforated. The darker wood trim is ok though.
I guess i'm a little too picky but I think i'm also still too emotionally tied to the Silversport. I think I need therapy!
I'm most likely going with the Infinity G35. The only thing I know I won't really like is the non-touch screen Navi.
After paying off the loan, i'll get a check for about $15,000. That's about $2,000 more than that I put down. I owned my (I guess it's the other woman's insurance company's now) Silversport for 15 months. I don't have an exact figure on the deprecation yet but from the preliminary estimate, I don't think it suffered a lot of depreciation.
In case anyone else ever finds themselves in this situation (hopefully not), AAA is going to pay in addition to the basic claim (Silversport and rental car) the following:
Sales Tax
Luxury Tax
Magna Shield
Premium Warranty
Licence Tags
Of course, these will be reduced by a certain amount but I was not expecting it at first. I seriously doubt they would have offered it unless I had asked. A friendly Lexus Salesman gave me the tip. As it stands, the inclusion of these items added another $5,000 to what I get back (part of the $15,000).

Seriously though, a friend just bought a new G35, loaded, and it's a sweet car. I'm all about cars made by Lexus, but I thought it was a great car for the price. He had to special order to get the packages he wanted- nav, aero, sport, color choice- but it's a nice looking car, really stands out. For now anyway, until there are a lot more on the road.
Though, it would be hard for me to give up the cargo room of an SUV and go to just having a car again.
