Welcome the new guy!
Hi everybody!
Just wanted to say hi to everyone in the RX300 forum. Have been lurking here for a couple of months and I finally decided to join.
My wife and I bought a 2002 Coach edition a couple of months ago. She wanted the burnished gold color so that is what we got. Bought from Lexus of Kendall for a hell of a deal so I couldn't be happier with them.
I am planning on adding some things to the RX in the next few months. Already added an Alpine sub/amp combo to complement the sounds thanks to my cousin who owns a local stereo shop. Will be looking to add a K&N filter for the mileage increases and possibly some new wheels! Bling Bling.
Anyway. just wanted to say hi and hope I can contribute to the boards. I have a couple of questions but I will save them for another day.

Plenty of info here...Enjoy your ride.
Post some pics, if/when you have them.
I'm definitely interested in learning more
about your sound system upgrade.

Thanks for the welcome, PW.
Yeah, the sound system upgrade. I told my wife to see "Cuz" and get a real sub in that thing. I didn't want something too extravagant. This is coming from someone who used to have 8 15" subs in his Isuzu pick up back in 1991. That used to be the shiznit back then. Nowadays, it ain't nuthin'.
Anyway, he installed an Alpine 10" S-series sub in a bandpass enclosure with plexi-window and a small 130 watt Alpine amp. Obviously, he had to go via hi/low signal converter rather than RCA pre-outs.
I thought we were going to lose our underseat sub since I thought that is where they were going to patch into. But we didn't. The amp is getting its signal from the rear cause if I fade to the front, the sub goes queit. All the factory speakers are still operational.
All in all, I am quite pleased with the bass output from a single 10" sub and a small amp, esp. with the minimal monetary commitment. I spent $250 for the sub, box, amp, and the window tint. Then again, he IS my cousin! Hehehe. I'm sure I got everything for cost like I usually do.
He sells rims too but everything I have seen in the shop so far is knock-offs. That is what the market demands, so that is what he sells I guess. I will have to ask him if he can order decent brands as well. Probably so since he has some 20" Lorinsers on his S500. The bum!

Welcome new guy! You've already answered my question about the sub. I plan on eventually getting a sub...probably will be a while though. Our LS400 has the factory 8" sub and it sounds great, I can imagine the sound improvement with a 10". I think I may go with a 12", but nothing more.
