My 1999 RX300 has a failure of the driving position memory system. There is no info in the fuse list to address this item. There are no beeps when any of the 3 buttons are pushed. This failure occurred after a service by my mechanic when the coil packs and plugs were replaced. Does the control unit need to be replaced?

Check these fuses;

1- 30A POWER fuse
2-10A DOME fuse
3- 15A ECU-IG fuse

Does the seat function when you adjust it? If the seat is still adjustable, it's more than likely one of these fuses. If they're all good AND the seat moves, it's more than likely the computer failed. It's located under the drivers seat. I have a good computer if you need one....

and yes the seat does function. Aorry about the ads that hitched a ride on my post and reply, I was using my tablet and I guess that is SOP for them...

The computer is a bear to get at. The plastic cover that goes around the front of the seat has to be removed. I didn't find a way to do that successfully. The computer is mounted under the seat there, but you have to gain access from the front.

There's not a whole lot of posts on this topic, as they don't fail very often. This may sound dumb, but are you following the directions on using the memory buttons? I thought I had a problem with my wife's car, but it was user error. Hence the extra computer....

If you really need to get at the bottom of the seat, lot easier to remove the rails and take the seat out. Just be careful about the side air bag. And also maneuvering the seat with the rails, you can damage door panel or the other seats.

the buttons don't work at all...not even making the beep when pushed after setting the seat in the position I want to remember.
