I installed the Procarparts.com altezza tail lights today. Thanks for all of the installation tips.

As far as I can tell, all of the lights are of the same brightness. However, I am using the bulbs & connectors from my '99 originals. The interior (door) connectors that shipped didn't fit my '99 (the RX has 2 connectors and the lights that shipped only had one) so I plucked the bulbs and connectors out of the originals and stuck them in the Altezza harnessing.

Did I get a mixed up order or did you guys have to do this too? It was no problem to do it, but it kind of puts a wrench into my plans to to possibly sell my 99 lights.

Thanks again for the installation advice,

-Mike

PS - Let me know if you want me to post a picture. Since I have a Black RX, it looks a lot like Shonuff's from the rear aside from the MDX antenna.

Foucco,

You are correct about the connectors. I had the same issue. However, I took a utility knife and chipped little portion of the connector to fit into the new light. Took couple of seconds. I, too, didn't see any difference in the brightness. They all looked the same to me. Overall, very pleased with the aftermarket part.

Perhaps I can sell my lights afterall (if anybody would buy them).

I'll have to play with your utility knife suggestion for amusement purposes since I don't want to disassemble the RX again until the weekend.

But, using the original light connectors in the new harness works too if anyone else tries it.

This was a good buy. But, I hope I don't see anything else like it for a few months or I'll blow all my $$$ on mid-priced mods!

All I have left now on the must-have list is a rear bumper protector and maybe a rubber cargo mat. Shonuff made the good suggestion of checking out the Toyota Sienna's bumper protector. I took a quick look a couple of weeks ago but will have to make a more detailed comparison this weekend.

Thanks,

Mike

Good luck
