Security light on solid red
I have a 2001 RX300-since yesterday the security light stays on solid red rather than flashing after I lock the car-what does this mean and what should I do about it. Thanks for any feedback!

Did you just get new Keys?
Usually a solid red indicator on means it's still in key registration mode.
Try "key on" "key off" 10x within 5sec.
Meaning insert key in ignition and turn to ign "on", not start, then "off" 10x in 5sec.

Same Key
It's the same key I've been using for 3 years. The car starts fine-but when I shut it down and lock it the red security light is on solid red.
What do you think turning it on and off 10 times will do? Any risk that it will deactivate the key or some other negative consequence?
Thanks fo any more info.

I am not sure, but I recall vaguely that all you need to do is, gather all your keys [2 master, 1 valet] and sequentially insert the master key in ignition and pull it out, then do the same thing with other 2 keys.
Since I am not sure, the above may or may not work, but I can assure you nothing wrong will happen.
You can call Lexus service and may be they can walk you through the process over the phone.
