Hi everyone,

I have a 2001 RX300 AWD and the rear right wheel bearing needs to be replaced. Should I just replace the bearing or the hub as well? The bearing needed to replaced a year ago actually just never had the time to do it.

Is there any thing wrong with the hub? Has it gone bad due to bad bearing.

not sure if the hub is bad. I know for sure the bearing is shot. Wasn't sure if I should just change it all out even if the hub doesn't need to be replaced since it'll be all out and I do plan on own the RX for a while longer.

Look for visual damage and then at time of assembly double check the fit.

I drove on a bad bearing for 3000 miles an did not have to replace the hub. The lexus mechanic looked for play in the wheel to see if the hub was bad.

I hope you know how difficult it is to replace a rear bearing on the AWD.......hub tends to be fine....

Had the rear bearing changed out this weekend. not a job I would do on my own. My mechanic said the hub was fine.
