Alarm System Problem
I recently cleaned the terminals on my battery. And now inside the car the theft deterrent system light is blinking it is not staying steady. And the alarm goes off when i lock the car. Also when i lock the doors from the door bottons and try to unlock they wont open so i then have to use the key. I also thought it may be the remote battery so i went ahead and changed that. Please any advice is welcome. Thank you in advance.

Try disconnecting the battery for about 20 minutes.
You will loose your presets on radio and seat.

At times when the reconnect is done you get spikes and gremlins take over. I usually recommend a clean wipe restart at that stage.
Just make sure you make one solid connection (minimum arcing/sparking). If the root cause of your problem are the gremlins, it will be fixed. If there is a hardware problem it may require some one to look at it.
Since the remedy I propose is no cost .. just inconvenience, I say it is worth it.

What exactly do you mean by "At times when the reconnect is done you get spikes and gremlins take over. I usually recommend a clean wipe restart at that stage."

When ever you make a connection [throw a switch or physically attach the clamp on the battery post], there is bounce ... the connection is made and broken tens to hundreds of times before a 'solid' connection is made.
During this On, off, on cycles [which happen in milliseconds] the electronics can get ahead and end up behaving strangely. Some electronics have 'soft start' that help pace it self till the voltages are stable.
By wiping clean, I meant erase the old state ... you will get there by disconnecting for about 20 mins.
I am glad to explain this, but it would have taken us less time to actually perform the procedure and conclude if it was of any help or not.

When I went to school for GM`s OBD II (back in 95-96) they claimed the only true/safest way to clear the ecm,is by doing it via a scanner.Supposedly,it doesnt completely erase every thing by disconnecting the battery. It may appear that way,but it doesnt.
