rattles
I see that quite a few people have rattles.
Does anyone know how to fix them?
I have a hideous rattle in the dash pod, if I push on the pod directly behind the steering wheel (top) it disappears.
I also have a periodic glove box rattle. My 99 is out of warranty so please don't recommend the dealer.

The only really annoying rattles that I have are in the sunroof and behind the leather trim on the front doors.
As far as silencing them, I recommend Dyanmat or similar product for the doors. I also use toothpicks that wedge into seams. It may be crude but it does the trick usually.
I used a can of sound absorber on my Maxima doors a while back and it was really messy and didn't seem to make much of a difference so I wouldn't recommend that route.
The other cure for rattles is to enjoy your radio at higher decibles.

I had a couple of rattles develop in my 2001 4Runner. I just took some bubble wrap and shoved it in where I found the rattles to be. Bubble wrap and packing foam works well to get rid of rattles, but just make sure you shove it in so it is not visible. Odd solution, I know...but it works!
