Default Glove box blowing out cold air on passenger floorboard

Does anyone have this problem and can tell me if my car is missing something? If you sit in the passenger front seat, a HUGE cold draft comes from the glove box onto your feet. If I open the glove box, towards the back is just a huge square cut out that has the outside air just blowing thru it while driving and it is causing us to freeze in the car. Is this normal? I bought it used and wonder if this was something missing.

You are missing your air filter and cover....Did somebody service your vehicle and take it out...There is an interior air filter for the air that is circulated in the car. It normally has a cover over it...probably what you are seeing is the hole....

do you know where I could purchase the filter and cover without spending a TON of $$$? I called the people that did the oil change (because this hasnt been like this until the last month or so) and they said they are not responsible for it. Yeah, right!

The cover is less than $6 online so I would contact one of the recommended sites here and see what they can do for you, but figure shipping. Other thing is find a junk yard that handles LEXUs.

You probably need 3 parts. The cover, filter and carrier that the filter sits in. Looks like all parts are available and cheap. They may sell the filter with the Carrier as one piece too.

You need #20, #12, #13 or possibly #11 is both #12 & #13 as one part number.
