Tim; Excellent information in that thread. It seems that I could be dealing with the Valve cover issue on my car. Since I last posted about oil consumption (4-28-14) I've put probably 300 miles on the car and not used any oil, and I really haven't had it on the freeway.

I'm guessing that the oil consumption is evident only at higher engine speeds. I'm also running a little heavier oil (5/20) so that maybe part of the solution as well.
