Looks like some of the stuff I used to do down there.

I have thought about 2.5 inch dual pipes off the new resonator, but I think the difference between using this APC and the previous Kire is quite noticeable. I had some low rpm issues at idle after letting the ECM learn the new altitude (over my previous problem of two high an RPM) and the RPMs went deadly low, under 500 rpm, but with this set up, back up to about 750 rpm and definitely more force off the light on the low end. I can imagine that 2.5 may inhibit that and/or perhaps a more direct muffler on the back, though for the time being I think the BMW muffler back there is large enough to handle my needs...we will just have to see.

We were using that Weapon-R filter about 2 weeks ago, but I found too many issues with it, especially under acceleration. I have to keep in mind the air is much cleaner here than back in Mexico. In addition, I had some choking and dying with the Weapon-R on there, and only after removing it, could I get the RPMS in order, but even then it was low. This new muffler had corrected that, though I plan to spray in the IACV later today (haven't done so since Mexico).

Looks nice!

How do the two exit pipes fit in the rear bumper? Both size and extension.

Do you think the trailer-hitch would further interfere?

There are some slight cuts into the rear bumper (two round areas), in order for the exit pipes to go through, they are leftovers from the dual exit Arvin muffler.

Don't plan to do a trail hitch, but the BMW muffler is roughly the same in size, perhaps a bit larger than the OEM muffler, not sure if tips would get in the way.

Salim,Im not trying to line jump you,But I had to add that whenever my milage starts to drop some, even on my daily routine(so I know nothing else had a factor in the decrease)I spray my M.A.S meter, and the milage comes back up again.I did put my k&n filter back in,runs much better with it.(btw) this I have done on more than one occasion, and it increases every time.

Well, I did spray my MAF sensor the other day with some of that CRC cleaner I got at AutoZone and that did make a slight difference as well if the RPMs, not much, but I noticed it.

Nice job on the exhaust, would using the APC muffler as a resonator cause the car to fail NJ emissions? Also, would it be possible to run dual mufflers if you rotated the one outlet tube to make a dual exhaust look?

No, none of those pieces would affect the emissions even in NJ.

Only reason I didn't run dual mufflers (i.e., one on left and one on right), was because of weight. At the end of the day, it made more sense just to run the pipes to one side. I am less on aesthetics and more on performance, but if I have any creativity left over after the performance, I try to make these things looks as neat as possible.

Hey Lexmex, I just came up with an idea for using the APC 156013 muffler as a resonator and running duel exhausts out the side in front of the rear wheels with some nice low profile rectangular tips.

This would allow me to install a trailer hitch and I would not have to deal with that stupid canister thing.

Your thoughts on performance and feasibility?

I thought about this after looking at it last night under mine.

It's feasible, but the only advantage I see is aesthetic if you are going to run one pipe to the driver's side and one to the passenger side instead of the way it's set up mine with dual pipes running to the passenger side (gives more weight balance since my butt sits on the driver's side).

The down side is you need 2 mufflers, the up side is less bends and routing issues like axles, canister and hitch.

Can't wait to try this, just need to convince Wifey to trash a perfectly good OEM exhaust !
