Two questions, if anyone can help.

I have a 2001 RX300 (tranny reubuilt at 104,000 miles btw). I'm looking for instructions on how to remove the floor console (with the draws and cup holders) between the driver and passenger seat. In lieu of that, does anyone know how to pop out the two sliding drawers in the console?

My passenger door will no longer unlock when the unlock tab on the key is pressed. I'm told that there is a motor in the door that unlocks the door in response to the key tab being pressed and that this motor is burnt. I'm also told that the motor runs in the high $200s. Does anyone know how difficult replacing the motor is?

Regarding the 2nd question, are you saying that the front left door unlocks when you use the electrical switch on the door but not when you use the remote? Also, what about the other doors? Do they work with the electrical switch on the left front door and do they work when the remote button is pressed twice? And do you hear the "beep" sound when you press the remote, and does the LED on the key light?

If it unlocks with the electrical switch on the left front door, then the first thing I'd do is replace the battery inside the key.

When I use the remote on the key, all doors (except the front passenger door) unlock and lock. I can't even open the front passenger door by inserting the key in the lock. I'll check again, but I don't think the electrical switch will open or lock the front passenger door.

My mechnic told me that it is the motor in the door and that it is a pretty expensive motor. I'm wondering if anyone knows the actual part and if it's a do it yourself job.
