Thanks for taking the time to show us the pictures. The box looks like it would restrict air flow, but it really helps power? Where does the air that goes into the box come from?

Nick, on the side of the box there is about 6"x6" hole. That is where the air gets sucked in from. The stock air box took air in the same way, there is a tube/hose that brings the air to the filter. Sorry if I can't word everything right I just woke up and I have a wicked hangover.. But it works....
