Unhappy Accident...

Our RX got rear ended....

My dad was pulling out of his office, when someone did a sharp u-turn, cutting him off. He stoped and got rear ended by a co-worker in a BMW 3 series. Luckily, only the bumper, tailpipe, and reflectors were damaged. The 3 series' head lights, bumper, and front spoiler were damaged serverly. I'll take pics in the morning...

Glad your dad is OK.

Crawl under the rear of RX and look for crumpled zones or for areas with paint/protective coat chipped off. I hope that you would not find any.

BTW the bumpers come unpainted.

glad everyone is ok. damage is not too bad. i myself got rearended at a stop light. the guy was said to be goin about 40mph and i was at a dead stop with my brakes on. all 5 people were ok and the damage was bad. tailpipe smashed shut, bumper crushed, same lights knocked out and crumple zones did their job, the door jams all the way up to the front of the drivers door and hood were all just a bit closer and just about touching. but anyway the car was real small that hit me and low to the ground so it literaly went under my truck, his hood and front end was all messed up, unluckily for him, there was a break in the windshield from his head hitting it, but he was ok. two words = drive safe!

Sorry to hear that. The one my father was involved in was at about 10mph, but the BMW did go under the RX.

Well we sent the RX in for repair today. The body shop we're using is Crest(also our infiniti dealership). It'll be back in about 3 days. We have a nice brand new AWD Pathfinder SE(perfect timeing too, snows been falling all day) to use while they have our car.

We got the RX back and it looks great! But its back in the Lexus dealership Our driver side door won't open with the remote. So we're driving around a 2002 AWD Gold RX.

I'm glad it's out of the bodyshop already, at least... I'm sure the Lexus dealership shouldn't take too long to fix your remote back to normal...

Yah my dad once rear ended a GS with his BMW 7.35. They got a scratch he had to get a new headlight, grill, had to fix the hood and the silver on the bumper. But some one his my mom's RX it has like 3 small scrathes on the rear bumper. It's gonna cost $500.
