Congrats TunedRx300 with your decision!!! You really will be happy with it, and if there is any questions while you install it, let me know. I will be more than happy to help you.

Good job, looks great - I've got the same system on my 2001 RX.

I'm getting the vaistech ipod adapter after christmas which is supposed to add a 'virtual' minidisc source to the stereo and shows you all the track title etc on MP3's.

Not sure if its different for euro models or whatever but a minidisc player was among the extra options available for mine.

Someone has done a similar thing with a UK 2001 GS430 here.

But we will see, I'll let you know - either way its better than having a 6 disc changer!

Default Nav ?

From what I am reading, you can put OEM Nav into a non-nav RX300, how hard is the install? Like putting in a car radio??

Yep this thread talks about how I did the conversion. The steps that were provided were very easy. Soo easy that you can't mess up. TunedRX300 just got his unit shipped to him so he should be installing his very shortly.

^^ Start from page one, you will see that there are 3 wire taps to be tapped in. The wire harness comes ready to be plug and play. All the work will be done by Lexusaudio so you really don't have to do much but to plug it in.

Question

YoshRX300, did the NAV come with the latest OEM DVD software? I'm still running 2001 DVD NAV software in my 2002. How can you tell which generation computer you have as well?

Also, did you ever install the backup camera? Are you going to?

Thanks
