Default Front vents don't blow enough air

Hi all, I have an '01 RX AWD. I was playing with the vent speed and different positions and i noticed that it almost doesn't blow any air out of the two top vents in the middle, even when the fan is at top speed. The vents on the sides seems to blow a little better, but not anywhere near what i've always seen in other cars. I also noticed that the two rear vents in the middle console don't blow any air at all. Is this normal?

Nope. The front center vents let out lots of air. The rear vent has a small dial for air, make sure it's turned up.

When you hit the vent selection into other positions, do you hear a motor trying to open/close flaps inside the vents? If not then its the motor inside that controls the opening/closing of the air distribution through the vents.

this might be a long shot, but check the cabin filter to make sure its suffocating by dirt or trash.

That motor can be accessed if you drop the Glove box and look toward the center console... start the car and watch there while playing with the heater controls... Dirt builds up on the motor arm slide control,...Cleaning it and lightly lubing it might fix your problem... Also the heater box filter could be real dirty... you can clean it with simple green and dry it out and re install.

are there two different motors? one for the two side vents and one for the two middle vents? The vents on the sides seem to blow almost fine, but the center ones are the ones that barely blow.
