Default pimp my new ride

So it looks like I'm about to buy an 02 RX300. And it's the right choice and it drives very nicely and there's lots of space and all is good inside. But I'm not exactly excited about the way it looks. Style is kind of... absent.

So what's the easiest way to make it look a bit better? Larger alloys - do 17" make a big difference? Any rear spoilers around? Are xenons easy to install?

Let me have your ideas. It's 'montrose blue', if that helps...

thanks!

It's all a matter of taste I guess. I think they look good, as is. Can you give us an idea of what cars you think look better/best? How about adding white polka dots?

You can pick up an OEM style spoiler from spoilerdepot pretty cheap...they even offer it pre-painted so all you have to do is install it.

OK, the spoiler is a definite. It's the rear of the car that looks most boring to me and adding the spoiler makes a huge difference.

Now, has anyone seen this silver bit underneath the front bumper before? I've been looking at ads for RX300s for a while but this is the only I've seen with this...

A Harrier that passed by me while I was in Jamaica two weeks ago had something similar. This appeared to me at the time to be some kind of deflector to prevent damage to the radiator.

Thats a skid plate. But its so thin you may as well call it a skim plate. I never understand y people one go up 1 side when getting new wheels. i say go +2 or +3. I would have gone with 19s myself. but 19 inch tires are expensive and hard to find. ask and X5 owner. so i went with 18's. the ride is compliant and it looks hot

So what are the main differences between riding on the stock 16" and the larger 18" wheels? What are the goods and the bads? I think the RX looks puny with small wheels... but how much does it change the ride if you go bigger?

for wheels, i say go with 20's. imo 18's look small even with a drop. tein makes suspension for our cars too if your interested in that kind of stuff. stechs drop about close to 3 inches, but they also have coilovers. exterior stuff, theres led tailights, chrome trunk handle trim, door handles, etc..

definitely buy a muffler tip...or do an exhaust. I have a tip on mine and it really "spruces" up the rear and it also makes noises haha!

maybe some clear side markers if that's appealing to you...

for my car: Rear i have a chrome trunk lip, hyperwhite license plate bulbs, and a muffler tip. comes with OEM spoiler. Front: I have 8000k HID foglights, 6000k HID headlights, built-in angel eyes, I also have eyebrows but didnt put them on yet. I think that is about it.

if you get bigger wheels your mpg will go down and performance might suffer a bit.

If you're going to make it look nice, don't go half way. 17" rims don't make it look better, 20's are even too small in my opinion. Go with some 22" Giovanna Dalars and a nice 2" drop with the Tein springs. Do it clean.

www.gohid.com and get 12000k HIDs if you want blue lights. 12000k's look GREAT.

You'll have the nicest RX in the neighborhood.

Oh, and don't worry about modding your exhaust. The only thing I'd do is take it to a muffler shop and have them put on some nice chrome tips just so you don't have that old and busted thing sticking out. Or, if you want to pay the extra hundred bucks, throw on a magnaflow muffler for the heck of it. But there is really no need to add performance parts to an RX300 as it will NEVER be fast. Well, maybe not never, spent $25,000 to put a turbo and nitrous in it and maybe it'll run 13's, but yeah.......
